How will you test a transistor with a multimeter?..

Answer / Vinesh Kumar

To test a transistor with a multimeter, follow these steps:
1. Set the multimeter to DC voltage range (around 20V). Connect the positive terminal to the collector and the negative terminal to the emitter. If the meter reads close to the battery voltage (usually around 9V for a common 9V battery), the transistor is considered open or faulty in its common emitter configuration.
2. Set the multimeter to ohms range. Connect the positive terminal to the collector and the negative terminal to the base. If the meter reads close to infinity, the transistor is likely functioning correctly as a switch when the emitter is grounded (common emitter configuration).
3. To test the transistor in its common collector or common base configurations, you'll need to perform different measurements.
