Answer / karthick
ovality is defined as the deviation from the regular
circularity.assume the oval shape in resemblance to
elliptical shape and the percentage of ovality can be found
out by 2(a-b)/(a+b)
where
a----->length of major axis
b----->length of minor axis

Answer / anil kamat
supposely you consider the 2 axis x and y of a circular
object and radial distance along x is greater in one
dirction than other three directions then the condition is
called as ovality. This can be measured by rotating it on
simply supported bearings and the using a dial gauge.

With reference to the engine manf. tolerances and record sheet, using a calibrated micrometer. Bottom end bearing is removed from crankpin / piston removed. Surface wiped clean. Then at the specified points in the record sheet, measure the diameter. Normally at least 0, 45, 90, 135 deg. with ref to TDC and 5 equal distance locations across the pin.
