How u measure the massflow in orifice flow measurement techniques
Answer / Arti Pandey
In orifice flow measurement techniques, the mass flow rate is calculated using the measured velocity and the known fluid properties (density and specific gravity). First, measure the orifice plate diameter and the pipe diameter. Then, take a series of measurements of the fluid velocity at different points downstream of the orifice plate. Calculate the average velocity and use the Coanda effect correction factor to account for turbulence. Finally, multiply the average velocity by the cross-sectional area (calculated from the pipe diameter) to find the mass flow rate.
