The synchronous machine excitation system explain

The synchronous machine excitation system explain..

Answer / Kumar Nishant Gahlaut

A synchronous machine excitation system is used to supply the necessary current for excitation to the rotor of a synchronous generator or motor. The main components of an excitation system include:
1. Exciter: Converts mechanical energy into electrical energy to power the rotor of the synchronous machine. There are two types: AC exciter and DC exciter.
2. Voltage Regulator: Adjusts the excitation current based on the load requirements and stability conditions. The regulator can be of various types, such as static or dynamic.
3. Exciter Field Dynamics (EFD): Analyzes the performance of the excitation system under different operating conditions to ensure stability and prevent instability issues.
