When our measurement value is increasing and controller output is also increa. Then it is called direct acting and if our measurement value is increasing but controller output is decreasing then it is called reverse acting ...

Direct action : input increase than output increase
Reverse Action : input increase than output decrease

According to Control valve
Direct action: Air to close
Reverse Action: Air to open
