Answer / carl_ellis

1) Put a voltmeter on the solenoid terminals and see what the control signal supply voltage is. It could be AC or DC.

2) Go back to the control signal source and trace the wires until it becomes apparent what the control signal voltage is.

3) Dig out the electrical drawings and see what control signal the circuit was designed for.

4) Measuring winding resistance is dicey (not terribly reliable) because the wattage ratings on solenoid coils covers a range of about 3:1, so the difference between a DC coil and an AC coil, or between a 6 or 9 watt coil is overlapped by different wattage coils for different services.

Lux meter is the measuring device to measure the lux level of lighting fixture. in industrial sector two types of lighting fixture is being used as street lighting purpose 1. HPSV (Sodium) and 2. HPMV (Mercury). HPMV having white light which is an combination of red, blue and yellow colour, while HPSV haivng Yellow lighting. in HPSV red & blue colour will be absent. during measurement of the lux level of HPSV and HPMV fixture. 1. Lux meter can measure the actual lux level of both fixture? 2. or it will show false reading for HPSV fixture light as it has only yellow light present. please give me answer

We have ZR22G-100-S-A-E-T-T--E-A/CV/F1 Model Zirconia Oxygen analyser which is Yokogawa make. I kept the analyser in Flue gas path at Air pre heater area. My plant is 7.5MW Biomass power plant. For a particular fuel, Coconut Husk which contains Sodium and Potassium chlorides iam not getting proper reading, Analyser output always Zero. I calibrated the analyser and it is OK. For Other fuels like Wood chips, Cholam waste, DOB, Groundnutshells, Ply wood waste and all iam getting actual percentage of Oxygen. What is the main reason behind this draw back?
