What is the purpose of jockey oil pump in turbine.generator..????..

It is othr wise called as jack oil pump.Generally during
shut down as the temperature of the shaft is very high, it
tends to bend in stagnant condition. But if it got slow
rotation it has lesser tendency to bend.So for rotating
theshaft at low RPM it needs to be jack up for reducing
friction.Jack oil pump do the by suppling oil to the jurnal
bearing.

Purpose of jacking oil pump in Turbo Generator is to keep the Rotor in floating condition during slow speed requirement for uniform cooling (during shutdown) and uniform heating (during Start up).
