why CERAMIC material is used in insulators??
Answer / ramkumar
A few reasons:
1. Ceramic is cheap (basically sand).
2. Excellent plasticity (enables moulding / shaping to
required size shape)
3. Its an excellent non-conductor,
4. Has very good mechanical and thermal properties.
5. Easy availability of raw material.
