standard signal transmission ?

Answer / jobby c johnson
Distance is not a limiting factor for current transmission(4-20mA) where as it is a limitation for voltage transmission. Because based on the resistance the signal seeing there will be a voltage drop. then the voltage signal available at the host end will not be same at the generating side. Based on the distance these deviation will be more.

it is depend on voltage drop between instrument and dcs,
beacuse resistance increases, minimum 80% of rated voltage is
allowed after that may be instruments showing wrong value .
