What is purpose of reactor?.What is different between line and bus reactor?
Answer / Chhabinath Ram
"A reactor in an electrical power system serves as a source of electrical energy. It generates electricity through nuclear fission, chemical reactions, or thermoelectric effects. The generated electricity is distributed to consumers via the transmission network.
Line reactors and Bus reactors are both types of reactors used in power systems but serve different purposes:
1. Line Reactor - A line reactor is connected between two electrical lines to reduce electromagnetic interference, voltage fluctuations, and harmonic distortions. It is typically installed at the primary side of transformers or transmission lines.
2. Bus Reactor - A bus reactor is used to stabilize the voltage level on a power system busbar. It can also help in improving the transient stability of the electrical network by absorbing and releasing reactive power quickly during faults."n
