*conductor cost is low.bulk power can transmit 2wire system.
*not affect the communication line

disadvantage
*complicate to design the filter

Also, following advantages;
1. no frequency mis-match problem and hence helps in Grid synchronization of two different Reason.

2. Better control over power flow by controlling the Load angle.

3. Easy transmission for long distance lines, as there is no Capacitive voltage increment ( due to Ferranti effect ).


Disadvantages:

More complicated and initial cost of the plant is many times higher than that for the terminal equipments of AC stations of same capacity.
