Short circuit means any two phases, line to ground, and two
line to ground. That is dead fault,at the time any other
appliances taking unknown current.
Any other electrical appliances taking one or tow times
above the rated current then it is called over load.

short ckt is a faulty condition of an electrical ckt where the live conductor gets connected with the neutral conductor or two live conductor of different phases gets connected.

when a load bypassed by a medium ,like phase to ground not
connecting load then electrons flow rate (amp) would be
higher enough to meltsdown the medium.Means load has been
shorted by passing all electrons to ground directly as by
not connecting the load.Overload means when machine ability
to run more than rated load, 1Kva transformer may have
rated load okva but if it reaches (1kva to 1.1kva) then it
is overloaded.

A 100 kVA , 400 v/250 kv testing transformer has 8% leakage reactance and resistance on 100 KVA base . A cable has to be tested at 500 kv using the above transformer as a resonant transformer at 50 hz . if the charging current of the cable at 500 kv is 0.4 A find the series inductance required . Assume 2% resistance for the inductor to be used and the connecting leads . Neglect dielectric loss of hte cable . what will be the input voltage to the transformer ?
