it is dangerous to motor(it may burn) and supply(large current flow) as induction motor must have a shorted rotor(closed winding). if it is opened and give the supply it acts like static transformer.

power is the product of voltage and current.so we can measure the value of power just by using ammeter and voltmeter.......then why do we use a wattmeter?
