It can be started if NRV is employed.Otherwise the air
pressure inside the compressor cylinder offers resistace to
the movement of the piston.

Air compressor is directly coupled induction motor.
Intially compressor is in loaded condition means induction
motor is not able to run the air compressor.for more
reference air compressor is widely using in agriculture
bore wells.
