why occ characteristics of generator is also called as
magnatization characteristics ?
Answer / Mrigendra Singh
The open-circuit characteristic (OCC) of a generator is also known as the magnetization characteristic because it plots the generated voltage against the magnetic field strength (or flux linkage) with no current flowing through the circuit. This curve shows how the generator's magnetic field changes with various exciting currents, and the generated voltage depends on the strength of the magnetic field. Therefore, this characteristic is called magnetization characteristics.
