We use DC voltage with DC series motor bcoz it can start
with load

it is 1-phase...25kv ac, 50Hz. actually traction substations
are there which recieve 3 phase supply and divide these
phases into sections of about 30-40 kms along the line. each
of these sections are completely electrically isolated from
each other by using dead sections.

25 kv single phase ac.converters are installed in engine because we need ac also to supply auxiluries like blowers etc.

the input mechanical power of a single alternator is increased,its RPM increased but in case of an alternator synchronised with grid its RPM does not increased with increase of input mechanical power. why?
