Why L.T.Cable voltage rating is 1.1kV,where as system
voltage is 0.415kV?
Answer / Ketan Rathi
The LTC (Low Tension Cable) voltage rating is higher than the system voltage due to several reasons. Firstly, the LTC voltage rating takes into account voltage drop during transmission over long distances and the need for a safety margin. Secondly, the LTC voltage level is designed to match the voltage level of distribution transformers, which are typically rated at 11kV or above. Finally, higher voltage levels allow for more efficient transmission of power over long distances with lower power losses.

Why we transmit the power at the voltage in the multiple of 11 or 1.1 like 11kv, 22kv, 66kv, 132kv...... some one told me that it is due to fomr factor 1.1 of sine wave. its fine but while transforming we can choose any voltage, so why only multiple of 1.1 there also.......? plz tell me.
