in Contactor opearation Why there is a difference in the
values of the operate and release voltage in case AC supply
Answer / Sheeshpal Singh
The difference in operating and release voltages in an AC contactor is due to the magnetic characteristics of the contactor. During operation, the higher current requires a higher magnetizing force (volt-seconds) to close the contacts. This results in a slightly higher required voltage for operation compared to release, where the contacts are separating under lower current.
