why our power production in multiple of 11, in strictlly
asking why our o/p voltage of alternators is 11kv only and
whynot graterthan 15 and016KV?

most of the alternators in india are design by BHEL which is
pre design at 11kv because this voltage required by plant
auxiliary machine and instrument. and transmission line
but if we want to alternator of 15 or 16kv we can but we
have to give spacial order to manufacturing company which
will be very costly due to individual peace.

the insulater is design for 11kv in xn line so the xn line
vtg are of the multiple of 11.for example 11kv*n=xn line vtg .
if there is a 12 insulater in one string then the xn vtg
will be 11kv*12=132kv.

cause in power system we are using sinusoidal wave forms,so
the form factor of the sin wave form is 1.11,that is why we
are using multiples of 11...............
if we go beyond 15 or 16 we have to face so
many problums like insulation damages,in sufficient cooling
