As per indian standard brick size is 190x90x90 mm, by considering 10mm morter each side the size of brick should be 200mmx100mmx100mm, volume of one brick= 0.2x0.1x0.1 = 0.002 cum now no. of bricks per cum = 1/0.002 = 500nos, no total volume of bricks only in 1 cum = 500x(0.19x0.09x0.09) = 0.7695 cum, so total volume of morter in one cum = 1-0.7695 = 0.2305 cum. so, in 1 cum of brick Masonary contains 500 bricks, and 0.2305 cum morter.

In practical work Brick Size found 254 mm x 127 mm x 76.2 mm
Than Volume of 1 Brick = 0.254 X 0.127 X 0.0762 = 0.002458 Cum
Therefore No of Bricks per 1 Cum = 1 / 0.002458
= 406.83 nos Say 407 Nos
