Bus earthing truck is use to earth bus bars of switchboard
at the time of maintenance of bus bars. For this we have to
remove incomer breaker panel and insert bus earthing truck
so that bus bars will remain earthed during maintenance.
Cable earthing truck is use to earth incoming cable or
outgoing feeder cable in switchboard during maintenance at
transformer end or motor terminal box.

In transmission and distribution lines the flow of of power depends upon mode of operation. There are two ways ,one from importing power from grid system, and the other one is exporting power to grid. There are certain switchboards whose sole application is to deliver power from system and as well as importing power from the system. In case of only importing only bus side earthing truck will suffice the purpose but in case of dual operation cable side earthing truck too are required.Since flow of power also from downstream to upstream any recurrence of negative feedback will get diminished by the use of cable side earthing truck.
