There are two expansions for PID
1: In PID controller: It indicates "
Proportional-Integral-Derivative " Controlling modes.
2: In instrumentational diagramatic representation of
industrial parts, material flow paths etc., it is known as
"Piping and Instrumentation Diagram"

p = proportional = decides the action for the same error
(error = Process Value -Set Point)
I= integral time, ie, repeat the same action after how
mutch time.
d = derivative, to make action slugish, otherwise always
the output will keep on changing.

Answer / pradeep bhola & nayan pate
P:Propotional, decides the action for eleminate the error
(error = Process Value -Set Point)but generate Offset
I:Integral, It will eleminate the Offset which is generated
by the Proportional gain but generate continous oscillation
in the system
D:Derivativeto, make action slugish & Stable.

PID means proportinal integral derivative. total pid will
eliminate the errors which presented in the process.

Answer / ramesh
proportional =output/input
gain is inveresly proportional (p)
for example p=50 means setpoint =50 the pv varies the 25%
above& below the setpoint that is Gain =1/50 = 0.02x100= 2
setpoint /gain that is 50/2 =25 so pv varies from 25%to
75%
intergal the time which to reachthe 25%to 75% is called
intergal if you set I= 10 means it will reach 10 sec
derivative generally D is used for only temperature loop
