There is starter used for A.C. motor, according to
rating,the rating and starter used for A.C. motor give as
follow-

1 hp to 5 hp ----- only D.O.L. starter
6 hp to 20 hp ----- star-delta starter
more than 20 hp ---- auto transformer starter

Starter selection can be taken in accordance with the Motor HP rating.ie,
1. For 1HP - 5HP Motor :- DOL Starter can be used.
2. For 5HP - 20HP Motor :- Star Delta Starter can be used.
3. For 20 HP & above :- Auto Transformer Stater can be used.

For a 25 HP Induction motor one should use the star delta
starter. During the starting the motor draws 5 to 7 times
its normal current rating due to high inertia of its
armature. In the star circuit the Il=Tph as a result the
current is high. Its like moving a startionary object from
its position we require high force.

Star Delta starter should ba used, because motor draws high
current in starting so we used motor should be in star and
after sometimes it is in delta so that that motor is ni
safe position

Above than 10 Hp motor Only star delta starter can be used.

i have one source transformer with the capacity of 50KVA, connected with two loads 10kw and second one is 15kw.. how can i calculate first load in KVA and second one in KVA .. because Kva rating, power factor rating of of transformer is different from the load… there must be some way to calculate load KVA rating and power factor….

how does the terminal voltage of transmission lines increase when a capacitor is connected???? This happens not only in transmission lines but also in all circuits. How??? When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? Practically What sequence of events happen during increase in voltage???
