According to I=V/R. The resistance of 40W bulb is high than
100W bulb , but current flowing in it low rather than 100W
bulb. The Power= I^2R. The current is multiply with own
first ,because it has square ,and then it multiply with
voltage. So when current is decrease the power is consume by
bulb is less..

The Joule's formula P=I^2R holds good only if I through
them is Constant. But, when connected accross same voltage,
the current through a 40W bulb is less than a 100W bulb.
Thus, I^2R for 40W bulb will be much much less than that of
a 100W bulb.
If we connect them in SERIES and apply voltage to the
combination, the current passing through them will be same,
and in that case, the 40W bulb will definitely CONSUME MORE
POWER THAN 100W BULB.

In domestic lines,we got parallel connections. So formula
P=V2/R is applicable .As such P and R are inversely related.
So power less more resistance less cureent.

even if u take the resistance of 40 watt bulb higher than
100 watt bulb,as the current varies square(I^2) the power
consumption,so power consumed by 100 watt is higher than
former........

Dear All, In a 400V power system, ratio of three current transformers installed incoming switchgear is 4000/1. Maximum three phases short circuit current of this system is 48kA. One CT is installed on neutral of upstream transformer (6/0.42kV, solidly earthed) for 51G protection. Would you please inform me about the correct CT ratio of this current transformer (on neutral)?? Thanks a million
How much allowable difference current between on three phases Dear sir, We have a 1870 KW HT motor, 11 Kv supply,FLA-120A,2870 rpm,2-pole squirrel cage induction Motor. And stator is connected in star connection with Liquid resistance stater to limit the starting current. It has coupled with Centrifugal air compressor. My question is it is loading 73% of FLA taking R-phase 86.7 A, Y-phase-85.4A,B-phase- 78.3A.why the B phase current is that much of difference. Is it allowable, or any one tell me how much allowable current. If any method to calculate.
