when a motor is connected in parallel with the existing
motor the pf will change or not?

Answer / indrajeet
It depends upon which type of motor you are connecting
means if you are connecting synchronous motor in parallel
then P.F.will improve.Instead of this if you connect
induction motor then the system P.F.will be lagging.

it depend which type of notor you are connecting . for
example induction motor will operate in lagging power
factor, synchronous phase modilfier with under excited will
operate in lagging and when it is overexcited it will
operate in leading p.f .

Answer / sreeknp
1' if the motor is of same pf --no change in pf
2'if second motor has lower pf then pf will lowered
3' if second motor has higher pf --pf will improve now it is
clear that may lower, higher or no change
so correct answer is sometimes it may chamge

In a overhead system why the voltage between line &ground is taken for basic comparison ?and in case of underground cables the comparison take only by the voltage between cables?
y we use neutral, all r told its used to for closed path..k its a just used to closed path,in a transmission line y we put same conductor used n both phase and neutral..if we use less than phase conductor in neutral mean we ll reduce cost its right r wrong..if we use mean any problem occur in transmission line..
when we connect a CT in the line will there be any loses in the line due to the mutual inductance of the CT.
