Finite element method is a method used for finding
solutions for complex structures. In this method the
structure is modeled into no of finite elements which are
interconnected at points called nodes. these elements can
have physical properties such as young's modulus,
coefficient of thermal expansion, poisson's ratio,
thickness, shear modulus etc..

The Finite element method (FEM) is a powerful technique
originally developed for numerical solution of complex
problems in structural mechanics, and it remains the method
of choice for complex systems. In the FEM, the structural
system is modeled by a set of appropriate finite elements
interconnected at points called nodes. Elements may have
physical properties such as thickness, coefficient of
thermal expansion, density, Young's modulus, shear modulus
and Poisson's ratio.

it is a technic of descritising a continuum into simple geometrical shape called elements, enforcing material properties and governing relationship due to consideration of loading and boundray condition which results in a set of equestion the solution of which gives thw approximate behavier of continuum.

finite element analysis is something like dividing the
entire structure into finite number of elements which are
connected with points on the either ends known as nodes and
analysing the properties of the structure at what ever
element we prefer too, and more over by fem we can come to
the deflection, displacement, stresses, strain etc. at the
node or element. with having some of the data of the
structure with us like the youngs modulus, material
properties, the boundry condition etc.
