because at 0.8 p.f. we can get min or zero regulation.
which can not get on the unity p.f.

it is at .8 pf because if we run the alternator at full load it may burn due to overload. as there are losses and variation in load, the alternator is fixed at certain pf. above it, it will trip.

i have gear oil pump with single phase motor.some time its motor starts running in reverse direction rather than forward direction...whats the reason behind this issue. 1- either capacitor is week? 2- or winding is week?
