What is the meaning of coupling and decoupling in the
context of power flow?

There is mainly four quantities in power flow studies viz.
1)Real power(P)
2)Reactive power(Q)
3)Power angle(d)
4)Voltage(V)
Out of these four quantities,
P and d are tightly coupled. This is termed as coupling.It
means for changing P we need to change the d only.Change in
rest parameters(Q,V) will not change P.
Q and V are tightly coupled.It means for changing V we need
to change the Q only.Change in rest parameters(P,d) will
either slightly or not change Q.
P and V are decoupled likewise Q and d.

power is the product of voltage and current.so we can measure the value of power just by using ammeter and voltmeter.......then why do we use a wattmeter?
