we can not caste any ht more than 2.4 mt at a time, you can
caste only 2.4 mt ht at a time, because vertical drop of
concrete should not be more than 2.4 mt due to seggregation
problem.

Answer / ajeet kumar bhatnagar
As per the I.S.code concrete should not pour greater than
1.2 mt heigh. But if u are using hose pipe then u may cast
as per the lenth of hose pipe reaches in side of col, which
also maintains I.S. specification of 1.2 mtr heightpouring
Thus we can cast col. more then 1.2 mtr. height. Generaly
hose pipe may be inserted up to 2.0-2.5 mtr depth in col.
and we can cast up to 3.7 mtr height of col.

1.5m since the max drop of concrete should be 1.5m height
to avoid seggregation of aggregates.

Answer / girish rawat
you can cast up to 4 mts of column if you have reqd
supporting system for the same. As for the IS you cannot
pour concrete more than 1.5 mts as segregation and self
compaction takes place. For the columns you there is no
issue as the concrete doesn't drop to the bottom at once. it
is interrupted by stirrups all the way.
This is based in practical experience and we have got it right.
Secondly nowadays there is Mivan Shuttering where you cast
the entire slab and column at one stroke.
Keep moving with new technology, you will save time and the
quality will be better if the mix is homogeneous lesser joints
