Answer / k.ravindran
220VAC is the root mean square value of the AC supply
provided by the electricity authority. It has the same
heating effect as 220V DC when the load is resistive.
Incandescent lamp is a resistive load.

Answer / ravi shah
Yes We can use 220V AC lamp on 220V DC supply because of
basically the lamp is made of filament which is a resistor
only and there will be same effect on resistor on both AC
and DC supply,Also on DC supply The light of the lamp will
be higher than AC supply.

Answer / dhiren
yes we can give 220v to ac lamp because the relation of ac &
dc in term of resistive load in heating.

Answer / pratheesh
We can say light is the result of heat produced in the
incanscent lamp filement.
So Heat produced= square of current* resistance of that
filament*time.
It is same in DC as well as in AC also(As it is pure
resistive load)
