transmission and distrubution:-
the lines which transmit power from generating station to
distrubution substaion is called transmission..
the lines which transmit power from these substation
consumers is called distrubution...
A very high voltage is transmitted to reduce losses...
The main thing we consider transmission or distrubution
is "SAG"calculation... sag of line directly propotional to
the weight of the conductor, distance between the poles etc..

T&D is a very vast feild in Electical Engg,It starts from
how power is transmitted & effectively distrubutd to user
end.Its is many areas like Loss reduction,Compensator
Design,Harmonics Compensation,Voltage Grading in Overhead
lines & Underground cable lines,HVDC(High Voltage DC
Transmission),FACT(Flexiable AC Transmission),SCADA
(Supervisory Data Control And Aquactions System)
Controlling,Protection,Montoiring,Metering(PT,CT,Optical
CT),Circuit Breaker(Vacuum Circuit Breaker,Ring Main
Unit,Isolator,Disconnector,Gas Insulated Subsataion,SF6
Breaker,Fuses),Substation Design,Pole Insulator Design
(Bushings)and latest Solid state circuit breaker, these are
major feild which seems to interesting

Transmitting higher voltage using stepup transformer to
avoid loss and steping down using stepdown transformer for
distribution purpose.Transmission mission means
Transmitting higher voltages like 11kv,33kv,66kv & 110kvand
Distribution means distribution lower voltages like 230v or
440v

Tested and Drifted one method of verifying integrity of
used tubing and casing (OCTG). "Test" refers to
hydrostatic: ends are sealed and water pumped inside to a
predetermined pressure. See drift def. above.

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
