Why do we use compressor in pumps for pumping water through
borewells? Submersible pump is enough then why do we go for
this method?

1.Compressor Pumps are used where the electrical power is
not available it can be coupled with deisel engines.
2.Compressor pumps are surface mount and it can be easily
inspected because borewell may collaspe at some times.

one more point is, when there is only a small quantity of
water in the bore well by adjusting the quantity of air
going in we can pump out the available water.
plus easy to repair the borewell pipe faults as no heavy
motor is hanging at the bottom.

Compressors are for gases and vapours.
Pumps are for liquids; that is normal pumps or average
pumps. Some pumps are designed to handle solids in liquid
but are described specifically as such. There are special
pumps, called multi-phase pumps, which are designed to
handle gas in liquids.
A fluid-powered pump, the jet pump, can handle both liquids
and gases and can be designed to handle solids as well.
Unfortunately, or possibly fortunately, the driving fluid
mixes with the process fluid.
