For which purpose the temp. rise test of transformer is
conducted?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
You see, when the current in a transformer increases, the
losses inturen increase because losses= I*I*R.
The Losses in a transformer is dissipated in the form of
heat. This is nothing but temperature rise. Hence, a
temperature rise test is conducted in order to maintain the
temperature of the windings and core within limits, and to
check the losses.
Hope that answers.
