mainly 2 type:: protection CT and measurement CT

Protection CTs __ CT burden kept low to give linear
response upto 20 times rated currnt
M/S cts __ Not expected to give linear respnse..have lower
VA capacity dan protection ct

There are two types of CT's.One is protection CT,second is metering CT.
Protection CT protect the electrcal system for any abnormal condition & trip over system.Metering CT used for Finding load.

RING TYPE....SQUARE TYPE
According to the usage it can be classify as follows
protection...metering.....
protection example over current relay etc
metering example for finding load current in alternator

adding to rahul's ans-
CBCT(core balance curremt transformer) mounted at LT side
for load balancing. when difference between the load
current b/w two phases is greater then the minimum value
then it energize the coil to trip the circuit.

how to make neutral to ground voltage less than 5v? my house is under the high voltage transmission line so,proper grounding using rod salt n coal doesnt help me..so wat i do as i cant operate my computer ..this high voltage cause great problem to the motherboard i already two times replaced it.in my house voltage is coming near to 25 v between ground and neutral.plz kindly post ur answer to my email id manish77777@gmail.com ..
