Why electricity is generated and transmitted at the values
of multiples of 11?

Answer / ishaan
The electricity is generated and transmitted at the values
of multiples of 11 because the value of form factor is 1.1
for sinusoidal waves, we generally incoorporate sine wave,
cose wave for electrical signals and at this value of form
factor, the efficiency of any electrical equipment is
maximum. More precisely we would say these are the
multiples of 1.1 like 6.6 etc.

Answer / gunnam santosh
we get avg values by multipling formfactor 1.11 for ac
sinusoidal wave form, so that efficiency will be maximum

there is no technical reason behind it.from very olden days engineers used to generate and transmit at the values of multiples of 11, and now-a-days they are continuing that. thats all.
this is true. (director of genco (andhra pradesh) had told this in one of his lecture).
