In industries Power factor is maintained by installing a
suitable KVAR bank, How is the PF maintained for domestic
use, where is the capacitor bank connected

Answer / bijay
For domestic supply ( 1 Phase) the PF variation is
comparatively low.
It is maintained at 0.95 by the Supply authority
(electricity board).
Capacitor Bank is located at the main
receiving/Distribution Station.

MAIN THING THE PF IS MAINTAIN FOR INDUCTIVE LOADS . IN
DOMESTIC WE HAVING THE RESISTIVE LOADS . BUT IN WE USING
FAN MOTORS AND SINGLE PHASE MOTORS ETC WE KNOW IN EVERY
SINGLE PHASE MOTOR WE CONNECT THE CAPACITOR IN SERIES OR
PARELLEL.SO PF IS MAINTAINING.

we provided capacitor banks in the substations and
monitoring the variations in the load for all areas were
the loads distributed its done by with the help of aload
dispathing center
