Distribution transformers are always D/Y. This is coz while
we are transmitting power from the generation station we
only transmit as R,Y,B. Say in the case of large industries
11 KV supply is given directly which is stepped down using
D/Y transformer. the neutal we take from the Y end

the answer is delta/star. bcoz in distribution system we
use always step down tranformer and in the system netural
point is more important for industrieal loads. suppose we
connect transformer in star/delta connection, no neutral
point is comming.

How to calculate voltage drop in copper and aluminium cable? I have laid 240Sq.mm Aluminium cable for the length of 600 Mtrs in 1 Mtrs underground. Normal load is 150A. Transformer is 630KVA, 6.KV/433V. But, I am getting only 395 Volts when load. How to calculate voltage drop and what is the permissible voltge drop for this circuit?
