SINGLE PHASE FORMULA FOR CABLE SIZING.
REQUIRED DATA:-
I :- AMPERES
L :- LENGTH OF CABLE.
K :- CONDUCTIVITY OF COPPER(58)
:- CONDUCTIVITY OF ALUMINUM (36)
Vd:- VOLTAGE DROP.
GIVEN DATA:
I:- 50 AMPERES.
L:- 100 METERS.
Vd:- 3% ACCEPTABLE OF 230 VOLTS
FORMULA:-
AREA (mm2)= 2*I*L/(K*Vd)
= 2*50*100/(58*6.9)
= 24.98 mm2
= ALMOST 25 mm2
FOR THREE PHASE:
AREA(mm2) = 1.732*50*100/(58*12)
= 12.44 mm2
= ALMOST 15 mm2
3% voltage drop of 400 volts =12 volts.
ABOVE EXPLAINED FOR IS PROPERLT CORRECT.USE AND ENJOY.

Answer / gurunadharaov
by the formula p=v*i*cos@
assume the load as 5kw and operating at 230v and also
assume the load as inductive (so the power factor is 0.5
pf lag)
now by formula
5000=230*i*0.5
i=50A
NOW CABLE SIZE MUST BE > LOAD
SO CABLE SIZE IZ 65SQMM(ITZ DSSEPEND ON AL/CU CABLE)

Explain bypass capacitor?
I just purchased a 4 position cam switch to be used to operate a 3-speed blower motor. The motor is a 10 amp motor and has 3 wires that are used to control speed. The cam switch was rated at 660V 20 amps but when I received it, I noticed that it has AC-15 operational current rating (Ie) of 4/5 amps. If I am reading the label correctly. the 4/5 amps is related to 440v/220V (Ue). Other ratings are AC-3: 5.5A, AC2: 7.5A and AC-4: 1.5A. My questions are 1) Is it safe to use this switch with the motor I have 2) what is the difference between the 20 amp Ith ratting and the Ie operational ratings?
voltage at generation stage is usually- ? a.11kv b.33kv c.66kv d.220kv

I have a 1000 kVA Transformer(11kV/0.415kV) and a APFC panel of 400 kVAR(LT).Now if i want to remove the LT APFC panel and install a HT(11kV) APFC panel on the HT side is the HT APFC panel will work same as the LT APFC panel(improve the power factor),if yes what will be rating of the HT APFC panel?what is the formula to calculate HT APFC panel rating???
