KVA = Kilo Volt Ampere (1000 VA)
P = V.I.CosQ (WATT)
Q = V.I.SinQ (VAR)
S = V.I (VA)
P = S.CosQ
Watt = VA.CosQ
VA = Watt/CosQ
Q = S.SinQ
VAR = VA.SinQ
VA = VAR/SinQ

it is the apparent power or the total power in the system
KVA square = KW square + KVARs square.
Any electrical equipment that takes both KW + KVAR will be
sized in KVA like electrical alternators, transformers &
cables.
but systems that can handle KW only is sized with KW only
like Mechnical engines.
The reason why KVA is very important to be considered in
design BCZ VARs are hidden & unuseful in the system but
will cause an extra current to rotate in the system for
example cables should be chosen depending on KVA not only
KW to avoid overloading & over heating caused by KVARs.

KVA is apparent power.It is vectorial summatation of KW and
KVAR.
KVA=root(KW*KW+KVAR*KVAR)
KVA =KV*I*root3

KVA is the reactive power. Generally any equipment draws
two currents one is active component of current and another
one is reactive component which is used to produce the
require flux or it is the power consumed by the reactive
elements.
