AS PER THE IEC STANDARDS THERE ARE 3 TYPES OF EARTHINGS.
1. TT SYSTEM
2.TN-C OR TN-S SYSTEM
3.IT SYSTEM
FIRST LETTER : EARTHING ARRANGEMENT AT THE SOURCE OF THE ENERGY.
T- DIRECT CONNECTION OF THE NEUTRAL POINT TO THE EARTH.
I- NEUTRAL POINT IS ISOLATED FROM THE EARTH OR IT WILL
CONNECT THROUGH AN IMPEDANCE.
SECOND LETTER : EARTHING ARRANGEMENT FOR THE EXPOSED
CONDUCTIVE PARTS OF THE INSTALLATIONS
T- DIRECT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF THE EXPOSED CONDUCTIVE
PARTS OF THE INSTALLATION TO THE EARTH ELECTRODES
INDEPENDENT OF THE EARTH ELECTRODES OF THE NEUTRAL AT THE
SOURCE.
N- DIRECT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF THE EXPOSED CONDUCTIVE
PARTS TO THE EARTHED NEUTRAL ELECTRODES AT THE SOURCE.
THIRD LETTER: ARRANGEMENT OF EARTHING FOR NEUTRAL AND
PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS.
C- NEUTRAL AND PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS ARE COMBINED IN SINGLE
CONDUCTOR.
S- NEUTRAL AND PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS ARE SEPERATE CONDUCTORS
T- NEUTRAL CONNECTION IS
