NEUTRAL IS USED TO COMPLETE THE CIRCUIT.
EARTHING IS RETURN PATH FOR LEAKAGE CURRENT.
EARTHING HAS ZERO VOLTAGE.BUT NEUTRAL HAS SOME SMALL AMT OF
VGE.

hey saleem there is surely difference btwn earthing & ground
in case of transformer circuit.
We get neutral from connecting three phase transformer in
star fashion no need to get it from ground

Neutral is used to complete the circuit. It will have the
same amount of current as in the phase wire, but u wont get
a shock when u touch a neutral wire as it is earthed at
transformer/generator side i.e. u and the neutral are at d
same potential as current flows only from higher potential
to lower potential, the same being posted earlier.
Neutral is just an intersection of three coils at one point
(Star connection) in a Xmer and therefore a part of source.
It is earthed to prevent arcing ground faults, a phenomenon
caused due to single line to ground fault( one phase wire
say R phase getting connected to ground resulting in higher
currents in other phases causing flashover of insulator).
Earthing wire does not carry any current in normal
operation, but it will in abnormal conditions say when
equipment body comes in contact with live wire. Since its
operation may require human touch, we may get a shock. This
current is therefore bypassed to ground through earthing
wire/strip, which is directly connected to metal body which
can conduct current and not concerned with its operation in
most cases.

earthing nd neutral are different from each other. neutral
is a point at which the circuit is closed in star
connection. and neutral is important for household
appliances or for single phase consumers. but earthing is
used for protection of opoerator from particular machine in
case of short circuit, any other faults which can damage
the machine.

Any device is earth-connected due to following reasons:
1) to provide via reference potential, as you know we deal with AC and has got no fixed value.
2) to detect faults. The earth provides a return short circuited path to detect faults.
Neutral is present in WYE only. In WYE connections the RMS value of the phase voltages might start varying as we apply unbalanced load. Grounding/earthing a neutral helps avoiding this variation.

earthing is physically connecting to earth where as ground
or neutral is any reference value it could be zero
