it is the properity of inductive load to store magnatic
energy.when FD is conduct the stored magnatic energy is
converted in electrical current though FD.
then the direction of current is same for load.
MAIN FUNCTION OF FD IS TO PREVENT THE CURRENT IN NEGATIVE
DIRECTION

the inductive loads needs the free wheelind diode because the inductive that do not allow the sudden change in current so that the negative peaks will come so in order to remove the negative peaks we are using the free wheeling diode the free wheeling will also improves the powerfactor.
