why surge suppressor in vaccum circuit breaker and it is
only in motor feeder why not in tranformer feeder?no surge
suppresor in ocb in motor feeder?
Answer / kalyan dilip
Surge Suppressor is used to control the current
fluctuations. In motor there will be fluctuations in current
with the change in load. So Surge Suppressor is used in motor.
In case of Transformer there will no fluctuations in current
with the change in load because voltage is maintained constant
therefore it is not neccessary to use Surge Suppressor in
Transformer Feeder.
