in thermit welding only molten metal is poured where the
joint is made. molten metal is a mixture of aluminum powder
and metal oxide the ratio of 1:3 by weight

in submerged arc welding process, a pool of molten metal is
used.here in this welding,the complete welding process
takes place in a medium surrounded by the flux.as a result
oxidation doesn't take place.so welding defect will be less
