The outer shield of the aircraft is of Aluminium which is
light and conducting material. Being Light, it hepls
reducing weight and being conductive it accumuklated the
charges produced by lightning on the outer surface of the
aircraft. As we know, the charge remains on the surface of
the sphere and does not impact htte inner part. When
aircraft lands, the body is grounded and the charges are
grounded.
