aggregation is the grouping of data roll-up is the
extension of aggregate caluse.
Query calculation is used for calculated data items and
layout calculation is used for run-time information.we can
supress null values by dataformat
Querystudio is used for simple,ad-hoc reports

Layout calculations are used to get the runtime information
into the report for eg: date, no of pages etc.
Query Calculations are used to perform required logic used
in the report for eg: calculation the revenue, sums etc.
Using Qery Studio we create simple and adhoc reports where
as using report studio we create complex and business
reports.

suppresion for rows...

you can hide the rows having null values by applying
conditional formatting as when you find null values in rows
make the box type none in the properties

hi, while opening the cognos8 in ie,the home page is coming,while clicking the report studio the blank page will come after it will showing the home page.But by clicking the cognos connection,Query studio in the same page it's open successfully. only for the report,analysis,event studio is not working properly.i didnot understanding the problem.Iam using the cognos8.1 and sql server 2005.and also checking the cognos connection by clicking the run and its success.
