f. Object mapping details,formulas for creating objects if
any, object names, class names

For Report:
a. Report object details
b. Formula details which is used in report if any
c. Report Layout include report headers, font
size,logo,position of logo,etc.

what is the use of merge option in webi reports? explain
with example?

Answer

Merge option used for fetching more than one data providers
information into single report or block.

For example, employee information is available in different
database like some of the information in oracle and some of
information in sql server. But you need all these info into
single report. In that time merge dimension option is used
to achieve this task.

You need to create two universe(data provider) for each data
source and then u can merge the two data provider with
common dimension field. One thing important is u can merge
only the dimension object not measure object

In dimension object should be in same data type in both data
source. ex emp no should be number or varchar. mismatched
data type will give error.

without creating the business view is there possible to
create & generate the Crystal reports?

Answer

we can create crystal report without business view. we can
fetch data directly from the database. Crystal reports
support many database driver to access the data. Based on
the data source you could select an appropriate driver.

Business view used when no crystal report is not installed
in your system.

Instead of cms which server you have to use?

Answer

There is no alternate server to handle the cms activity in
BO environment. But Through clustering the cms we can run
the BO environment, if one cms get down, other one get
activated immediately. So, BO environment not affected. But
doing clustering is not easy one.

Answer

Hi Everybody,
Prompt is user interact object as said above.
It is limiting the result set data. Data will fetch from DB
based on what user has entered the value in prompt.

Its improve the query performance too rather
than fetching all the data from db.

we can create prompt from dimension object as
run time while creating the report for first time or create
predefined prompt while design the universe using @prompt.

finding the changes by viewing the class name and objects
name which is get changed from old one.

Answer

Each Dimension table has been split into more than one
dimension and connected with centralized fact table. It has
bigger size than star schema. Dimensions are sliced
deeply with the business requirements.

Hai,
Can anyone tell me 'how to use one dataprovider
result as an input to another dataprovider?.
In BO6.5 there is an option like "select query result".
we can use this option in the filter.
but the same thing not available in BO XI webi.
if any one face this problem , can you please share with me
how to do this?

In XI R2 webi there is a function called Dataprovider SQL().
It returns the sql query as an output in string format. You
can use this sql to another data provider for an input. I
hope this will help you. Revert back to me once you use this
option
