SCR is nothing but Silicon Controlled Rectifier whereas DIAC means Diode Alternatin Current.

SCR is a silicon cotrolled rectifier and by the name
it self is specified as it is controlled by a silicon
type material.
where as in a diode rectifier it does not have any
such type of material.
