It is Causal Dimension not casual. They can be used for
explaining why a record exists in the fact table.

To explain the term, lets take an example of sales of some company. Generally, we all come across year-end sales, where there is sudden increase in sales. So this dimension table is used to record such reasons for increase in sales. Causal Dimension describes the factors that caused change in product sales.
