Differentiate between control interval (ci) and control area (ca)?
Answer / Dayaram Pal
Control Interval (CI) is a unit of storage in VSAM, which holds a set of records. Each CI has a unique sequence number. Control Area (CA) is the area that contains one or more control intervals along with other control information such as pointers and counts. It acts as a table of contents for the data stored in the control intervals.
